Pro-X is a really nice hardware store, lumber yard, and appliance vendor. The store is well stocked with most normal need items. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I shop there several times weekly. It's great to have a nice, clean store close to home! UPDATE: I originally posted a review of Pro x several years ago. Since then, the store has increased its stock, added several different lines of fencing, railroad ties, electrical, etc. This store is bigger and better than ever. The staff, especially the floor staff, like Dwayne, Ron, Dan, Holly, Lainey, Iris, and the other cashiers, are very friendly, knowledgeable about where things are found in the store, and have tremendous amounts of experience in not only retail, but in the real world. Dan, for example, was both an electrical and plumbing contractor in California. Dwayne was an engineer for game company Bally, and really knows a lot. Joe, who is in contract sales, owned a sawmill, and those lumber very well. John and Sebastian, also in contract sales, round out a great crew, both indoor and contract. I don't do much business in the appliance and carpet side, but all of the people I have met from that side of the business have been very friendly and knowledgeable. I personally think the merger with Western Building Supply has been successful. Finally, except for Bent Tree Farm Idaho, Pro-X has the best free popcorn in town!

We built our home 20-years ago. We purchased our cabinets from WBC in Kalispell. We hired our own cabinet installer. We were at the site while the cabinets were being installed. An area of the cabinets did not fit. Our contractor was not answering his phone. We called the Columbia Falls WBC. Their manager came to our building site. WBC covered the cost of the cabinets that needed to be replaced. 7 years ago we remodeled our home. We ordered cabinets/pantries (2) and cabinets for an extended counter. The cabinets needed to match our existing cabinets that we bought from WBC when we built our home. Luck for us they were still making our cabinets. Then, we found out that WBC was having a problem with some equipment where the cabinets were made. But, all was fine and our cabinets arrived in cardboard boxes. When we unpacked the cabinets, they were totally the wrong color. WBC said they couldn’t get our cabinets. So, WBC paid a local cabinet maker to make our cabinets. No charge to us! The cost of the cabinets was $7,000. It was more than double what we had paid WBC. If you want quality products, honesty and integrity, shop WBC!

12/24/2025 Amy helped me today with a NEBO Jump Start Air Compressor, I'm a girlie girl, had NO idea where to even start, they plugged it in for me until I could get down there. Bubba at pickup showed me how to use everything, he told me "here the directions are right on the case." The car started first time! THANK YOU, Ty (mgr.), for having these GREAT associates and for the step back in time, when Customer Service was this good. THANK YOU, Western Building Center!!! I had a very large roofing project I was flying in from Denver, CO to complete. Long story short, Home Depot dropped the ball in a major way and left me high and dry without any materials the night before the project. Pro X spent an hour on the phone with me filling my order. They check through the store to make sure items were in stock and, when they didn't have an exact match, they found comparable solutions. The people here are knowledgeable, professional and helpful. First class establishment.

A little slow on the meet n greet, but I get pointed in the right direction when I need help. The paint guy? PHENOMENAL! He helped me find my own color of black that works best with my customers and wood that I work with! Can't say enuf good about him. Definitely the guy to go to for paint! The outside staff is fast,courteous and knowledgeable. One of them is also my nephew...so I may be a bit biased 😅. But all in all, a great place to go for your painting,woodworking, anything needs.

After visiting 2 hardware stores in town without sliding door tracks, I visited WBC. To my surprise, not only did they have exactly what I was looking for, they cut it to my dimension (24" instead of 30") and they let me have it for free because someone had custom ordered it and then refused it. Wow! That's customer service. Sliding doors are back to functioning like they're supposed to! Not my 1st visit and certainly not my last. Will use them as my 1st choice more now. Thank you, WBC!

Been going in and out of Pro X for near two decades now and always appreciative of the efforts so many of their employees make to be of a customer service mindset. So many common sense, decent people in our place that it’s not terribly surprising to see the consistent high level of authentic professionalism. Last time was Holly and today it was Iris at the checkout.. Like so many of the other decent employees, Friendliness And courtesy Is always present at checkout!

Our experience with Pro X for almost 10 years has been great. Staffs are quick to happily help customers, and ensures that customers like us are satisfied with their products and services. Staffs are very polite, helpful and knowledgeable in things that we might need help with. Prices are reasonable, and product’s displays are quite organized. We love that Pro X handles things right away, positively, without any doubts when we have issues with anything.

We worked with Sarah at WBC to order our Crystal cabinets. We were amazed at how great our cabinets came out as well the quality! We are not easy to please.. but can't say enough about WBC-Sarah and the installer Aaron's professionalism, customer service and attention to detail that left us in awe! I recently put in a new mailbox post, and rented the powered auger to do the job of digging, as the ground in Columbia Falls is not easy to dig. I also bought the mailbox, and post at Western Building Center. This is the only place I like shopping for hardware or lumber. The staff are helpful, and even if they don't have what I need, they can order it with a lot less trouble than Lowes or Home Desperate. Highly recommended!

Andrew is the freakin man! He can help with whatever project you need done, and very thoughtful and thorough and just a pleasure to work with!! All the other staff is amazing as well very helpful and kind everytime I go in there they feel like family I cant reccomend them enough! all around amazing experience I highly recommend making the trip to cfalls for any help you need with building projects or building supplies!!

We were impressed by the service we received when we visited WBC to obtain information about what materials were needed for a tricky porch build. Despite the small size of our job, Murray was helpful and professional and treated us as if we were his only high revenue client. Then WBC exceeded expectation by delivering the product we needed ahead of schedule. This is no box store...they really care about your business!

I was waited on quickly, I was given choices for what I was looking for with prices and full descriptions about each item. The prices were competitive and the items were carried to my car without asking. It was a great experience. The employees were friendly, helpful and carried out their jobs efficiently. I felt like I was an important customer even though what I needed were not large items. Great experience.

We always have great service whenever we go into ProX. The staff are always smiling and ready to help with whatever we need. It's really nice to know we can find what we need here instead of traveling to Ponderay/Sandpoint. The kiddos especially love the popcorn every time we visit :) Also we recently discovered that they sell dog food too. Would recommend ProX Bonners Ferry for any home improvements needs.

Johnson Madison has been great to work with for us for four years now. They have competitive transparent pricing. Quality materials and the staff is very helpful and kind. If there is ever a delay or an issue they are quick to respond and resolving the issue. Kurt is someone who helps us out frequently and is excellent to work with. Highly recommend these guys and gals for all of your building needs!!

Ron has been extremely helpful, he always greets me knows what I am looking for and he works with you to understand exactly what your trying to accomplish. I really enjoy pro x it feels like going to see family every time I go there. The guys in the yard are very polite, and as is true with the rest of the crew very professional. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I stopped by Western Building Center today to pick up some screws, bolts, and nuts, and Bubba provided outstanding customer service. He was knowledgeable, patient, and truly went above and beyond to make sure I found exactly what I needed. It’s rare to experience customer service like this anymore, and it made a big difference. Thank you, Bubba, for such a great experience!

Great selection of hardware, tools, and their lumber is better quality than box stores. The staff is always willing to help and great at knowing what they're talking about, or at least getting you to someone who does. I get why local contractors come to these guys. Prices are middle of the road in terms of most things you'd buy here. Not a lot of cheaply made goods found here.

I’m a regular customer at Pro-x Home center in Bonners Ferry. I’ve bought in quite a few tools there for my business Ron Peaster Is The Man!! He’s always been more than helpful trying to give me the right tool that I need and if he doesn’t have it he can direct me as to where to get it, or he can order it in. This was my first time visiting this store, and I was beyond impressed. I needed to purchase a small amount of lumber, and the folks behind the counter were incredibly friendly and helpful. They clearly explained the process for getting the lumber. The guys in the yard were also great, they helped and loaded everything for us. Overall, a very positive experience!

Stopped in today to get some aluminum for a bracket I needed to recreate. James (I think that was his name) helped me get everything I needed. He then asked another employee, Jasmine, if she could help me with project. She got in contact with her dad who helped me fabricate the piece I needed. I don't know what I would have done without them. I am so grateful.

We had a miscommunication order along with some frustration and finding ourselves in need of exchanging half our order. Brad O. went above and beyond to make sure we got everything and explained in great detail the "why and whats" making sure our project went smoothly and that we'd walk away happy. Thank you very much sir!!

We had a home built in 2015/2016, and used WBC for many aspects of the build. We were so pleased with the great service! Sara helped with our cabinets, and she was amazing. She worked hard to design our beautiful kitchen layout, and got us just what we wanted within our budget. We're so lucky to have WBC right here in town!
