Western Building Center was founded as a cabinet and millwork shop in Kalispell in 1946 — and building materials remain the core of everything we do. Our delivery fleet runs on schedule across Montana and Idaho with flatbed trucks for standard loads and boom trucks for elevated deliveries. Yes. Every WBC location offers flatbed delivery of lumber and building materials to homes and jobsites. Boom truck delivery is also available for elevated or hard-to-reach locations.
Can you do a materials takeoff from my building plans?
Absolutely. Bring your blueprints to any store and our estimating team provides a complete materials list with quantities, specifications, and pricing — typically within 24-48 hours for residential plans.
What engineered wood products do you carry?
We stock LVL beams, I-joists, Parallam PSL columns, and Microllam LVL headers from Weyerhaeuser and Boise Cascade. Custom lengths and sizes are available by special order.
Do you carry treated lumber for decks and foundations?
Yes. We stock both above-ground and ground-contact rated treated lumber in multiple sizes and lengths. Our treated lumber meets current preservation standards for residential and commercial applications.
What is the difference between SPF and Douglas Fir lumber?
SPF (Spruce-Pine-Fir) is the standard framing lumber — lightweight and cost-effective. Douglas Fir is denser and stronger, used where higher structural values are needed. Both are available at our stores.
Do you offer volume pricing for contractors?
