Andersen Stone Casement Hardware Pack

The Andersen Stone Casement Hardware Pack gives contractors a complete hardware solution for upgrading casement windows manufactured from 1999 to present. At 18 pounds for the traditional folding pack, this aluminum and painted metal construction replaces the plastic operator covers found in older variants. The folding mechanism addresses a real contractor headache — window treatments hitting the crank handle.

Skip it if you’re dealing with pre-1999 windows or contemporary-style stops with the traditional hardware. The traditional folding style (part 1361562) won’t fit windows with contemporary stops — you need the contemporary kit (1361563) instead. The 8-day lead time matters when scheduling jobs in Montana’s short construction season.

Folding Mechanism and Material Construction

The folding hardware design creates clearance for blinds and curtains that standard cranks can’t match. Traditional and Contemporary styles both offer this folding feature, letting you match the window’s interior design while gaining functional clearance.

The traditional pack’s metal operator cover outperforms plastic alternatives from older models. Plastic covers crack in Montana’s temperature swings. Metal handles the -20°F to 85°F cycling without brittleness issues. Stone color coordinates with other Andersen components, maintaining visual consistency across the window system.

Each pack includes the operator handle (folding or classic depending on style), operator cover, lock handle, lock bezel, nylon washer for traditional style, plus mounting screws and set screws. Everything needed for a complete hardware swap comes in one package.

Compatibility and Installation Requirements

Compatible series include 400 Series, 200 Series, A-Series, and Perma-Shield casement and awning windows manufactured from 1999 to present. Incompatible with pre-1999 units without specific adapters or separate kits.

The biggest compatibility trap: traditional folding hardware won’t work with contemporary stops. Check your window stops before ordering. Contemporary windows need the contemporary folding pack (1361563).

Installation runs six basic steps: remove existing operator handle by loosening the set screw, pull off the old operator cover, unscrew the existing lock handle and remove the lock bezel, align and screw in the new lock bezel and handle from the pack, snap on the new operator cover, then slide the new operator handle onto the spindle and tighten the set screw. Required tools are just a Phillips head screwdriver and flathead screwdriver for set screws — basic DIY skill level.

FAQ

What’s included in the Stone hardware pack?

The complete kit contains operator handle (folding or classic style), operator cover, lock handle, lock bezel, nylon washer for traditional style, plus all mounting screws and set screws. No additional hardware needed.

Will this work on 1995 Andersen casement windows?

No. These packs only fit windows manufactured from 1999 to present. Pre-1999 units require specific adapters or separate kits.

Can the traditional folding hardware be used on contemporary-style windows?

No — traditional folding style won’t fit windows with contemporary stops. You need the contemporary folding kit (part 1361563) for contemporary windows.

How long does installation take?

With basic DIY skills, a Phillips head screwdriver, and flathead screwdriver, the six-step process takes about 15-30 minutes per window.

What’s the advantage of folding hardware over standard?

The folding mechanism provides clearance for window treatments like blinds and curtains that standard crank handles interfere with. Plus the traditional pack uses metal operator covers instead of plastic, improving durability in temperature extremes.
