Bostitch 15-Gauge 1-1/2 Inch Finish Nails (3655 Ct.)

The Bostitch 15-gauge 1-1/2 inch finish nails are specifically designed for Bostitch FN-style 15-gauge finish nailers. That’s not marketing speak — that’s a compatibility warning. These nails use a 25-degree FN-style angle (proprietary to Bostitch/Spotnails) versus the industry-standard 34-degree DA-style, which means if you don’t already own a compatible Bostitch nailer, these 3,655 nails are worthless to you.

Will NOT work with 15-gauge DA-style nailers (e.g., DeWalt, Milwaukee, or other brands using 34-degree nails). The proprietary angle (25 degrees) means they are hard to find in local hardware stores compared to DA nails. So if you run out mid-job in Montana, you’re driving to Western Building Center or waiting for an order — the corner hardware store won’t have them.

Tool Compatibility and Nail Specifications

Compatible Bostitch models include the N59FN, N60FN, N62FN, and N62FNK-2. Other compatible brands include the Spotnails 1512FNG. That’s the complete list. Your DeWalt nailer won’t work. Your Milwaukee won’t work. Your Hitachi/Metabo HPT won’t work.

The 15-gauge thickness provides a balance between strength and a smaller nail hole — thinner than 16-gauge finish nails but stronger than 18-gauge brads. The glue-collated design is meant for smooth feeding and reduced jamming in high-speed tools. Though based on user feedback, collation strips can be fragile; shipping may cause strips to break into smaller pieces, and if collation glue/tape is damaged, it can lead to nailer jams.

Interior Applications Only

The electro-galvanized finish is intended for indoor applications. Not recommended for ACQ-treated lumber or exterior projects exposed to heavy moisture. In Montana’s dry interior environments during long construction seasons, that’s rarely a limitation. But don’t use these on exterior trim or anywhere they’ll see weather.

Applications include finish carpentry (trim and molding installation), baseboard, chair rail, and crown molding, furniture construction and assembly, cabinet making, door and window casings, hardwood flooring installation (specifically for certain finish phases), picture frames and decorative trim, paneling and upholstery trim panels.

Consistent sizing and performance in compatible tools means these work reliably when you’ve got the right nailer. Strong hold for finish work delivers what matters — trim that stays put.

The chisel point drives clean without splitting hardwood trim. The smooth shank won’t blow out the back of painted MDF. These are purpose-built interior finish nails that do exactly what they’re supposed to do — if you’ve got the right tool to shoot them.

FAQ

Will these nails work in a DeWalt 15-gauge finish nailer? No. These 25-degree FN-style nails will NOT work with 15-gauge DA-style nailers from DeWalt, Milwaukee, or other brands using 34-degree nails. The angle difference makes them incompatible.

What Bostitch nailers are these compatible with? Compatible models include N59FN, N60FN, N62FN, and N62FNK-2. The Spotnails 1512FNG also works.

Can these be used outdoors or with pressure-treated lumber? The electro-galvanized finish is intended for indoor applications. Not recommended for ACQ-treated lumber or exterior projects exposed to heavy moisture.

How many nails come in a box? 3,655 nails per box, weighing approximately 8-9 lbs.

What size holes do 15-gauge nails leave compared to 16 or 18 gauge? 15-gauge provides a balance between strength and a smaller nail hole — bigger than 18-gauge brad nail holes but smaller than 16-gauge. The holes are small enough to fill easily but the nails are strong enough for structural trim attachment.
