Performance That Counts

The paint delivers high stain, scrub, mar, and burnish resistance — exactly what matters in commercial environments. At <10 g/L VOC (without tint colorant), it meets strict air quality requirements without sacrificing durability.

Application Like an Alkyd, Performance of an Acrylic

Excellent flow and leveling (applies like an alkyd) means painters get the smooth finish they want without fighting the material. The 30-minute touch dry time keeps jobs moving, and the 2-hour recoat window means you can get two coats on in a morning.

Application Methods

  • Polyester brush
  • 3/8 - 3/4 inch nap synthetic roller
  • Airless spray (2,000 psi, 0.013-0.017 inch tip)
  • HVLP spray (10 psi cap, 1.3 inch tip)

Do not thin normally; if required for spray, thin sparingly with water (5-10% by volume). Most painters won’t need to thin it at all — the flow characteristics handle typical application needs straight from the can.

Built for Real-World Commercial Spaces

High-traffic interior environments (schools, hospitals, institutional) and Commercial and hospitality projects are where RESIST-X earns its keep. These aren’t theoretical use cases — they’re the environments where paint failure costs real money in maintenance cycles.

The paint works on properly prepared and primed wood, drywall, masonry, and metal. That versatility matters when you’re painting mixed-substrate commercial spaces.

Priming Requirements

Different substrates need different primers for optimal performance:

  • Gypsum Wallboard: Master Painter ZERO Roseal or Prime Solutions First Coat
  • Ferrous Metal: Metal Master or Barrier III HS Metal Primer
  • Non-Ferrous Metal: ClovaPrep Epoxy or Prime Solutions First Coat
  • Masonry/Concrete: pHlex-tite Primer or Prime Solutions First Coat
  • Wood: Prime Solutions First Coat

FAQ

What makes RESIST-X different from standard interior paints?

Best-in-class performance with scuff-resistance sets it apart. While standard paints might look good on day one, RESIST-X maintains its appearance through years of abuse in high-traffic areas. The 100% Acrylic formulation provides durability without the VOC content of traditional alkyd enamels.

What’s the recommended application temperature range?

50°F to 90°F (humidity ≤ 90%). Montana’s dry climate usually keeps you well under that humidity limit, but temperature matters during shoulder seasons.

How many coats does RESIST-X need?

2 coats (1.5-2.5 mil per coat; 3-4 dry mil total). Don’t try to save money by stretching it to one coat — you won’t get the scuff resistance the product promises.

Can RESIST-X be used over existing paint?

Yes, with proper preparation. Compatibility includes gypsum drywall, wood, masonry, brick, pre-cast/cast-in-place concrete, varnished/lacquered wood, plaster, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, and wallcoverings. Just make sure you’re using the right primer for the substrate.
