GlobalPointe WO1523 White Oak 1-Lite Glass Door (Clear Bevel Sand Etch)

The WO1523 combines premium white oak construction with innovative LVL core technology that outperforms traditional solid wood doors in warp resistance and stability. Montana contractors dealing with extreme temperature swings between heated interiors and winter cold need doors that won’t warp, and this door’s Laminated Veneer Lumber cores in stiles and rails deliver superior stability over traditional solid wood stile-and-rail doors.

LVL Core Construction Changes Everything

LVL cores in stiles and rails solve the fundamental problem that plagues solid wood doors in Montana’s dry climate. The 5-year warranty backs this up, but only if you finish all six sides (including top and bottom edges) with solvent-borne or water-borne polyurethane. Skip that step and you’ve voided the warranty before hanging the door.

The warranty specifically excludes “abnormal warping (exceeding 1/4 inch)” — that quarter-inch tolerance tells you what GlobalPointe considers acceptable movement. For comparison, that’s tighter than many manufacturers who allow up to 3/8 inch.

Clear Bevel Sand Etch Glass Details

The Clear Bevel Sand Etch glass configuration is exclusive to the #1523 model family within the catalog. Tempered glass for safety comes standard — not an upgrade. The sand-etched bevel provides privacy while still allowing light transmission, making it practical for home offices (balancing privacy with light) and bedroom or bathroom entries.

The door includes the white oak door slab and pre-installed 1-Lite Clear Bevel Sand Etch tempered glass. No assembly required on the glass — it’s factory-installed.

Installation and Environmental Requirements

Doors should not be subjected to extremes of heat or humidity; they must be acclimated to the installation environment. In Montana, that means storing these doors inside the conditioned space for at least 48 hours before installation, longer if moving from an unheated warehouse in winter.

All doors must be finished on all six sides — this isn’t optional. Failure to follow care and maintenance guidelines voids the warranty. The bottom edge seal matters as much as the visible surfaces for preventing moisture infiltration that causes warping.

GlobalPointe products are Assembled in USA (Genoa City, WI), though no specific FSC or Energy Star certifications were explicitly listed in the catalog.

FAQs

How does the LVL core compare to solid wood for interior doors?

LVL cores outperform solid wood in resisting warping and shrinking. The laminated construction distributes stress across multiple layers instead of following the grain patterns that cause solid wood to move.

What makes this glass configuration unique?

The ‘Clear Bevel Sand Etch’ option is exclusive to the #1523 model family within the catalog. The combination of beveled edges with sand etching creates privacy without completely blocking light — harder to find in stock doors.

Can this door work with barn door hardware?

Compatible with standard interior door hardware, barn door tracks, and pocket door systems. The 1-3/8” thickness works with most barn door hardware designed for interior doors.

What voids the warranty?

Labor costs for removal or reinstallation, misuse or abnormal warping (exceeding 1/4 inch), failure to follow care and maintenance guidelines, and improper finishing (must be finished on all 6 sides) all void the 5-year warranty coverage.
