GlobalPointe PR11XUG - 1-Panel Full X Primed Barn Door

The PR11XUG delivers what Montana contractors need most in a barn door: factory-primed finish that cuts installation time and a full X design that doesn’t look like a budget afterthought. The EasyPrep primed surface with factory-bonded primer reduces final finish time, while the continuous X configuration sets it apart from basic flat-panel sliding doors.

This interior barn door solves the swing clearance problem that plagues tight Montana ranch homes and cabins. At standard heights of 7 feet (84 inches) with 8-foot options newly available, it fits most residential openings without custom ordering.

Time-Saving EasyPrep Finish and Full X Design

The factory-applied primer changes the installation game. The material features interior wood core (MDF) with factory-bonded primer that’s ready for topcoat application straight from delivery. No primer coat. No waiting between coats. In Montana’s compressed building season, that matters.

The full-width X-shaped stile design runs edge to edge across the entire door face. This isn’t a stick-on X or partial decorative element — it’s integrated into the panel construction. The 1-Panel construction with 3/8 inch MDF panel thickness provides a stable substrate that won’t telegraph irregularities through paint.

The stile and rail with double step sticking means proper joinery, not just glued-up panels. That wide 5-1/8 inch top rail handles the stress of sliding hardware without sagging over time.

Space-Saving Applications

Interior sliding barn door installations work in hallways, closets, and bedrooms where traditional swinging doors are impractical. Montana’s older ranch homes often have narrow hallways where a 30-inch swing door eats up precious square footage. Slide it along the wall instead.

The door is compatible with GlobalPointe sliding door hardware and follows standard barn-door installation procedures. No special mounting requirements or proprietary track systems. Interior use only — this isn’t an exterior-rated door.

For comparison, GlobalPointe offers the PR11AUG model with 1-Panel Diagonal design in the same size family and material. The diagonal version provides a different aesthetic if the full X doesn’t suit the project.

FAQ

What’s the actual time savings with the EasyPrep finish? The factory-bonded primer eliminates one full primer coat and drying time. Figure you’re saving 4-6 hours minimum between application and cure time, depending on humidity.

Can this door be trimmed to fit smaller openings? MDF construction allows minor trimming, but cutting into the stile and rail assembly compromises the door. Order the right size.

Does the Full X design affect the door’s structural integrity? The X is aesthetic, not structural. The stile and rail with double step sticking provides the strength. The X design doesn’t weaken or strengthen the door.

What hardware works with this door? Any standard barn door hardware fits, though GlobalPointe’s own sliding door hardware ensures compatibility. The door comes as a slab only — hardware sold separately.
