Western Building Center has been helping Montana families and contractors build their dreams since 1946. What started as a cabinet and millwork shop in Kalispell has grown into a family of 12 stores across Montana and Idaho — but our commitment to personal service, expert advice, and quality materials has never changed.

Our Milestones
The Beginning
Les Kjos opens a cabinet and millwork shop in Kalispell, Montana — the foundation of what would become Western Building Center.
Flathead Valley Growth
Expansion into Columbia Falls, Whitefish, and Eureka through the 1970s — establishing WBC as the Flathead Valley's building supply leader.
Across Montana
Growth into Libby, Polson, Ronan, and Stevensville — bringing expert building supply service to communities across western Montana.
Do It Best Partnership
Joining the Do it Best dealer cooperative — combining national buying power with local Montana service.
Beyond Montana
Pro X Home Center opens in Bonners Ferry, Idaho — WBC's first location outside Montana, serving Boundary County and Canadian neighbors.
